This first webinar will focus on the various pathways to obtaining coverage. Two states (MS and CO) will discuss how they have obtained coverage for DSMES for their Medicaid populations.

A second webinar will highlight how states with Medicaid coverage are working to increase participation of DSMES in the Medicaid population.

Learning objectives:

At the end of the webinar series, participants will:

• Understand the importance of quality DSMES programs (those meeting ADA/AADE National Standards)
• Understand how the provision of quality DSMES aligns with the CDC led 6| 18 Initiative and CDC-funded state work
• List at least two roles for state health departments as they worked to obtain Medicaid coverage of DSMES
• Compare and contrast features of the DSMES benefit structures of two states
