National Diabetes Education Program – Call for 2012 Frankie Award Nominations

The National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) is pleased to announce the call for nominations for the 2012 Frankie Awards.

The Frankie Awards recognize the innovative and effective use and promotion of NDEP materials and resources in support of diabetes prevention and control programs and initiatives.  All state Diabetes Prevention and Control Programs (DPCPs) and public or private partner organizations that have used NDEP resources to develop prevention and/or control initiatives or incorporated NDEP materials into existing activities between January 2011 and December 2011 are eligible to apply.  The Frankie Awards recognize achievement in the use of media, implementation of NDEP activities in the community, promotion of NDEP resources to address disparities, and collaborative partnerships using NDEP resources. The Frank Vinicor Award of Excellence is awarded to the program that demonstrates exemplary use of NDEP resources in a comprehensive, multifaceted campaign to address behavior change.  For more information, please contact Alexis Williams at awilliams15@cdc.gov.
