November is National Diabetes Awareness Month!

To celebrate National Diabetes Awareness Month and World Diabetes Day on November 14, 2009 below are resources to help support the work you do to prevent and control Diabetes in Washington State!

  • National Diabetes Information Clearinghouse (NDIC): you can download a variety of educational materials for the prevention and management of diabetes.
  • The Vision & Eye Health Council offers numerous resources for providers of people with diabetes at no cost.
  • National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP) offers downloadable campaign and patient educational materials, powerpoint presentions, fact sheets, booklets, and posters. The materials target specific populations and some are offered in numerous languages. They now offer podcasts also!
  • DiabetesPro, an online resource from the American Diabetes Association (ADA) for health professionals, which includes the latest diabetes research, clinical guidelines, reports, etc.
