Description

Where does public health messaging need to be? Everywhere people look for information – online, on the air, on billboards, in the mailbox. This webinar presents three communications resources from CDC’s Division of Diabetes Translation (DDT) to reach key audiences with information they need in the channels they already use. You’ll also learn how you can adapt these resources for your audiences.

  • The Your Health with Joan Lunden and CDC video series provides insights on diabetes risk factors, prevention, management, and much more and calls on viewers to take action to improve their health.
  • The DDT Feature Article Microsite is a collection of science-based, reader-friendly content you can add directly to your website with just a few lines of code that DDT provides.
  • The Prediabetes Awareness Campaign reaches millions of Americans at risk and motivates them to take the first step—determine their risk with a 1-minute prediabetes risk test at DoIHavePrediabetes.org.

Presenters will share highlights and demonstrate how each resource can support health communications efforts big and small. There will be a Q&A at the end of the presentation.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this webinar, you should be able to:

  • Describe and explain the purpose of the diabetes and prediabetes communications resources.
  • Locate and access the communications resources.
  • Use the communications resources on your own websites and in state and local diabetes and prediabetes campaigns.

Presenters

  • Tanya Hamburger, MPH, Health Communications Specialist, DDT
